Bobwhite Quail

The name "bobwhite" derives from its unique and characteristic whistling call, a sort of ah-bob-white, well known to hunters and anyone who hears them in their batural habitat.  Despite its secretive nature, the northern bobwhite is one of the most familiar quails in the eastern North America because it is frequently the only quail in its range.  Many homesteaders prefer to have bobwhite quail around because they destroy certain weeds and eat harmful insects.

Bobwhite Quail are among the most popular breed of game bird for dog training and hunting.   We specialize in raising fast flying, weather conditioned quail suitable for any of your training or hunting needs.  Our clients include dog trainers, field and training trials, landowners looking for a personal weekend hunt, and private and commercial hunting preserve operations.  We also service parks and private landowners wishing to restock the quail population on their lands with an early release program.

We raise our birds in a manner unique to the game bird industry.  From the moment they leave the incubators as day old chicks, they are placed in our brooding barns and given white light to prepare them for natural sunlight.  At 6-8 weeks our quail are moved to outside pens where we expose them to moisture by misting them daily to activate their oil glands.   By 10 weeks, our bobwhites are fully weather conditioned and ready for early release onto your farm.  At 16-20 weeks, our bobwhites are fully flight conditioned for all of your hunting needs.
